If a long day at the beach has you feeling famished, check out Gilligan’s Island Bar & Grill in Siesta Key Village. You can’t miss it – it’s the biggest tiki bar on the island!
This place has everything you would expect from an island bar – great food, big drinks, a lively atmosphere and … an old-school Volkswagen van protruding from the kitchen?
Don’t bother cleaning your sunglasses, because watching your food come out of the back of an old VW is just an everyday occurrence at Gilligan’s.
(Don’t be shy about taking pictures.)
Since 2001, Gilligan’s Island Bar & Grill has been serving up island favorites to locals and visitors alike. If history is any guide, you can’t go wrong with the fan favorite Mahi Mahi Tacos.
But if you’re more of a classic burger and hot dog connoisseur, try the Big Kahuna Burger or the Turbo Dogs. Also, be sure to ask about the Wild Caught Grouper featured in several menu items.
Since the menu is revised annually, you’ll want to be on the lookout for new grub during your inevitable return visit.
If you’re full from your meal and looking to burn off some calories or just to find a fun spot to party, Gilligan’s also hosts live music performances, and the doors stay open until 2 a.m. If you wander in on a Saturday afternoon, you can catch Acoustic Pete Blues Service as early as 2 p.m. for a more laid-back vibe.
Be sure to check out the CaliFlorida Surf & Skate Shop connected to Gilligan’s, in case you forgot your swimsuit or want a souvenir of your stay.
Whether you’re looking for fresh coffee in the morning next door at Lelu Coffee Lounge, delicious food, nightlife or beach rentals, Gilligan’s Island is the place to be. (You may even run into your very own Ginger or Mary Ann.)
